All I am really sure about, Jesus is my Surety!

Hebrews 7:22 tells us “by so much more Jesus has become a surety of a better covenant”.

The Greek word used for surety is eggyos. This is the only time this Greek word is used in the New Testament. It was used to refer to a person who guaranteed payment, a co-signer for another. The surety would assure that all obligations of another would be met as has been promised. Jesus is our surety in the promise of the New Covenant relationship with God. Jesus is the security guarantor for our salvation. All that is necessary to fulfill the promise for our salvation is met by our Great High Priest who reigns forever, our surety, Jesus Christ.
